ok, team. Have you had the opp to listen? Comments?
September 19, 2006
Also did you see the note about interaction design + Pandora on the class blog? This is what Dan said.
Might it be good to set an agenda for our next meeting on THU before class? Also before then, I’ll get with Rizwan or Janice for an update on what Dan’s comments were last THU. I didn’t see them posted anywhere here. I might even catch up with you Kyle!

It turns out that I found 3 pieces of music
September 16, 2006
and as I created them in GarageBand, they’re strictly experiments. So if you don’t like any of the tunes, do not fret. I can’t hear them objectively anymore as I’ve listened to all 3 over and over again. We can certainly find something else from Creative Commons.
But I am having trouble getting these 3 uploaded – I am trying to use Odeo…

Interaction around the campus
-
Parking
-
Buildings (such as signage, wayfinding)
-
Walkways (Cone’s comment that no one uses them)
-
Website
-
Classrooms
Notes: Rizwan is primary. Goal is to use examples to show the challenges of interaction design – what works, what doesn’t work, how it can be improved. Use photographs to illustrate examples. This may be a group discussion where we chime in with our own experience, such as parking ticket, walkways, vending machine, UTD web site.
Product Interaction
Hear someone trying todo something (This would be good for a videocast).
Notes: One product TBD. Possibly iPod because it is an icon of good design for this era. Product may be discovered through step above. Cone knows Camtasia which creates video of someone using a web site.
Listener Involvement
Assign homework
- http://www.tipsfromthetopfloor.com/ or provide URLs (pertinent websites
- Verbal Quiz
Notes: Rizwan is primary. Send listeners to blog.

People walking across UTD campus don’t use crosswalks
September 14, 2006
As I was leaving after class last week, I noticed more than a few students walking around the campus — and of course crossing the roadways. Oddly enough, not one walker used the crosswalks as marked on the streets. Perhaps those traffic patterns need to be revisited. And the crosswalks revised. Moved to where they’re needed.
